Advantages of EC and IC Engines

Advantages of EC Engine Over IC Engines

Probably, you are thinking that if EC engines require such complex parts to undergo processes, then why they are used? Yes, you are right. But, external combustion engines are basically used to run power plants, where natural gas or solid fuels are cheaper than other fuels. Practically, EC engines are best options to get power from solid fuels. Actually, it is used to generate high starting torque. If you closely monitor some natural coal based large power plants, then you will find that they use steam turbines to generate electricity.

Hopefully, you can now realize well that why IC engines are used in automotives. Firstly, you have to understand that due to operation and process simplicity IC engines are highly advantageous over EC engines. This type of engines requires fewer arrangements to generate power than EC engines. Due to less mechanical arrangements, it causes less heat and process losses and aids the system with higher overall efficiency. IC engines are highly used in small power generating units and automobiles. You can also visit some automotive industries, where you will find that this type of engines is the most suitable option due to flexibility, light weight, and simple mechanical
arrangements.
